Hello machinakias

What program did you use to create your background with ???

Please test using PaintShopPro or irfanview or ACDSEE to save your image background. Don’t use Photoshop :O

Hi again my friend balder!

i downloaded a jpg, converted it with irfanview to bmp and reduced colors to 256 (no compression) as the help says...

when i make the menu, and try the iso it reboots when it says "press any key to boot..."

i'll try it with acdsee too....
is there anything else to try?
thanx and happy new year!!!

Question 1: Do you see your background with menu at all?
Question 2: Don’t you ever see your background and instead you only see some text with black background telling you "press any key to boot..." is that all you see?

Please, clarify a little bit more what happends :O

well....i messed up things!!!
here it is...i make the menu with my image, get the iso and i'm testing it in virual machine...

i see the menu with my image,it works fine (i can select my OS to boot)
and then it starts the xp installation by saying "press a key to boot" as normally does...(i use unattended xp greek iso)
That's the point that (normally) starts to load the xp installation....

but instead of it,it simply reboots.....that's my problem.....
if i use the original background,it works fine!!!
hope it was clear this time.....so got any ideas?

Hello again machinakias

Quote: “well....i messed up things” Well, same here from time to time - are you my unknown brother/sister :D
-------------------------------------------------

First of all, find and delete file “bootfix.bin” in folder i386 so you don’t get that "press any key to boot..."
it’s no point to use bootfix.bin when you can use EasyBoots nicer “Progress Bar” instead :;):

This problem of yours is not related to any problem with EasyBoot itself, it’s something you have done when copying files and folders to EasyBoot\disk1 repository.

Back to basic is the word…

Copy folder i386 to EasyBoot\disk1  (do not rename folder!) Copy also necessary ident files (win51 etcetera)
Make sure w2ksect.bin (in originally shape) is in folder EasyBoot\disk1\ezboot
Use menu command:  run w2ksect.bin   This must work otherwise I don’t understand a thing.
Test also to leaving out your unattended file (winnt.sif)
Note: When creating ISO, do not check “DOS(8.3)” and  do not check “Joliet”.
