Hi, I'm Dario from Italy.I've a problem. I want to create my multiboot cd with these applications: 1)ERD2005 2)Hiren's boot cd 3)Win XP Pro customized with nLite The problem is that both ERD and Win XP have the same folder (i386) with system data. I've tried all the possible options from all over the posts on this forum... - tried to rename erd's i386 to iERD, but the error 'can't find ntldr' is shown; - tried to use bcdw (using iso) with the same result; - tried to follow the instructions for adding a second o.s. to the boot cd I really don't know how to make this cd... maybe I'm doing any mistake? Could anyone tell me the correct procedure for these products? Thanks in advance! Dario Posted by xoben on Aug. 07 2006,21:15
QUOTE - tried to follow the instructions for adding a second o.s. to the boot cd >>Adding Windows XP Pro Here is a step by step instruction for adding Windows XP (English version): 1) Make a folder named 'xpen' under 'c:\easyboot\disk1' 2) Copy 'win51' and 'win51p' (from root directory of original CD) to 'c:\easyboot\disk1' 3) Copy I386 folder to 'c:\easyboot\disk1\xpen' 4) Copy wxp.bat from 'c:\easyboot\resource' to 'c:\easyboot\disk1\xpen', and run it there 5) Copy w2ksect.bin in 'c:\easyboot\disk1\ezboot' to a new file xpen.bin 6) Start EasyBoot, click 'Tools'->'Replace Text', browse file 'c:\easyboot\disk1\ezboot\xpen.bin', and specify 'I386' as "Text to Replace", 'XPEN' as "Replace to", then click 'Replace', 1 occurence should be replaced 7) Do step 6 to 'c:\easyboot\disk1\xpen\setupldr.bin', and replace 'i386' to 'xpen', 4 occurences should be replaced 8) Open 'c:\easyboot\disk1\xpen\txtsetup.sif' by NotePad (or UltraEdit), search for 'SetupSourcePath', and change [SetupSourcePath = "\"] to [SetupSourcePath = "\XPEN"] (not include []) 9) Set the menu item's command as 'run xpen.bin' 10) Save menu file Posted by spirit on Aug. 10 2006,18:10
Dear Xoben, thanks for the fast reply. I've already read the help file of easyboot, thus I've already tried the hint you gave to me... sorry, no result... the start of all systems except the xp installation is ok, but when I start the win installation I get a message asking for the win xp sp2 installation cd. I don't know why this happen, I've replaced the "i386" folder name in both c:\easyboot\disk1\ezboot\xpen.bin and c:\easyboot\disk1\xpen\setupldr.bin, as well as in c:\easyboot\disk1\xpen\txtsetup.sif. Any more suggestion? Thanks, Dario Posted by xoben on Aug. 10 2006,19:43
Hello spirit, the above method works with Windows XP only. Please search for tips about ERD2005 and Hiren's Boot CD on this forum.

The only remark is: Step2: 2) Copy 'win51' and 'win51p' and "win51ip.SP2" if SP2 is included) (from root directory of original CD) to 'c:\easyboot\disk1' Thanks for the procedure once again. bozon42 |
