Hello All,Is there any way to stop the "Press any key to boot from CD" nag? I have created the boot CD and tested it in the VM and it works awesomely. Thank you for all your help by the way. The only thing that I can't seem to get around is the "Press any key" nag. Is there a way to bypass this? Thank you once again. Nirliq Posted by balder on Oct. 15 2012,14:21
@NirliqQuote: "Is there any way to stop the "Press any key to boot from CD" nag?" Sure there is ![]() I agree it is a very annoying behaviour ![]() Question is what kind of build (or ISO) we are dealing with ![]() Anyway... Always look for a file called 'BOOTFIX.BIN' Remove this file and it is fixed ![]() balder Posted by Nirliq on Oct. 16 2012,21:15
Hi Balder,I have a Win7 Preinstall environment and I expect I will be setting one up for Windows 8 in a few days. Sometimes my attention strays and I would like the PE to just boot then wait for me to come back and continue the install process. Easyboot really helps a lot. ![]() Thanks for your help. Nirliq. @NirliqQuote: "I would like the PE to just boot" Let me put it this way... ![]() WinPE based on NT6-system can directly be launched in EasyBoot using this method: 1. Copy ISO-file of that WinPE to folder EZBOOT 2. Use menu command in EasyBoot menu: run ***.iso 3. Tick 'Joliet' when creating final ISO in EasyBoot Note: Vista, Win7, Win8 and server-2008 is typically NT6-systems. ------------------------------------- And to stop the "Press any key to boot from CD" nag in that particular ISO-file, do as follow: A. Open ISO-file (I use UltraIso) and go into folder 'boot'. B. Delete file 'bootfix.bin' in folder 'boot' C. Save changes to ISO-file Note: UltraIso creates a backup of the modified ISO-file in case you want to return to original shape of that ISO-file (you can of course later delete this unneeded backup of ISO-file) ![]() regards balder |
