Just trying out Ezyboot. From it's description I thought it would be able to create an XP boot CD, from a XPP CD that I have that currently isn't a bootable version (it's an upgrade), but after opening the Ezyboot program, I may have misunderstood what it does.
To recap, I have an early version of XP Pro which isn't bootable. It will only install from within Windows and, when used this way, will upgrade earlier Windows versions to XPP.
Someone had suggested I use Bart's boot disc creator, from here: http://www.nu2.nu/bootablecd/, but that seems way to complex for a simple person like me.
If some kind person can set me straight here, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

Easyboot is not a tool designed exactly for what you are asking. However, it would be possible to make your Windows bootable using this software.
I suggest you use CDIMAGE (microsoft own ISO compiler) to do the job OR using NERO to build a bootable CD.

HOWEVER, there is no Easy way to do this and I wonder how come your upgrade CD is not bootable? I have used some XP upgrade disk in the past and the only difference was that you had to insert the CD-ROM of an older OS during the "upgrade" if there was nothing left to detect on the hard drive... (didn't ask the CD if it could "see" and older OS already installed on the hard drive)

Thanks, Incroyable HULK. That's pretty much what I thought. Looks like it'll have to be done the long way around :--))
Yes, it's curious that this CD won't boot. Anyway, no BFD. I'm a tech and this was basically an exercise, to see if EzyBoot could do the job. My CD certainly isn't important now, with all of the new XP's that have come out since then.
Thanks again for your response
