Did anyone of you create working multi-boot DVD containing Windows XP Home & XP Professional? I tried to create multi-boot DVD with Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP Home & Professional, but only one "XP" version works. The problem is that Windows XP Home as well as Windows XP Pro uses the same init-file WIN51. When I copy this WIN51 (of Windows XP Home) to root folder, only Win XP Home installs properly; Win XP Pro istallation will not start at all (only black screen). When I copy WIN51 (of Windows XP Pro) to root folder, only Win XP Pro installs properly. Does anyone know ho to make both "XP" versions working? I have read neerly all the articles on this forum, also the help file, and many other articles, so I know how to make fully working multi-boot DVD. The only problem is I don't know how to have Windows XP Home and Windows XP Pro on one DVD. I will be really thankful for any help or suggestion. Ardjuna.

Please, show the structure of your multiboot-DVD.

I'm in work right now, so maybe I'll be not precise (using my memory only to recall the structure). Also I used MagicISO to make the multi-boot DVD, but I think with EasyBoot it should be similar.
Under the "root" there are the following directories and files: Win98 (= directory with Windows 98 SE) WinME (= directory with Windows ME) Win2K (= directory with Windows 2000 Pro; contains all the ident-files also!) WinXH (= directory with Windows XP Home; contains all the ident-files also!) WinXP (= directory with Windows XP Pro SP1; contains all the ident-files also!) iW2K (= i386 of Win 2000 Pro) iWXH (= i386 of Win XP Home) iWXP (= i386 of Win XP Pro) CDROM_IP.5 (= ident-file of Win 2000 Pro) CDROM_NT.5 (= ident-file of Win 2000 Pro) WIN51 (= ident-file of Win XP Pro) WIN51IP (= ident-file of Win XP Pro) WIN51IP.SP1 (= ident-file of Win XP Pro) WIN51IC (= ident-file of Win XP Home)
I created the bootable image files (boot.bif) for each Windows distribution (boot98.bif, bootme.bif, boot2k.bif, bootxh.bif, and bootxp.bif) also. You need them in MagicISO. Also I have modified SETUPLDR.BIN and TXTSETUP.SIF (replaced all words "i386" with "IW2K", "IWXH", or "IWXP" according to each Windows distribution). Same modification done in all the "boot.bif" files. You probably know the procedure. Finaly I burned the multi-boot DVD, and test it with failure in installing Windows XP Home. After I clicked on the "Install Windows XP Home" option from the boot menu, there was just black screen for a long time. All the other Windows versions install just fine. So that's my problem. Thank you very much for replying!!! Ardjuna.

Structure should look something like this:
EasyBoot\disk1\IW2K\ a bunch of boot-files including ident files\i386 (ident files not necessary in here) EasyBoot\disk1\IWXH\ a bunch of boot-files including ident files\i386 (ident files not necessary in here) EasyBoot\disk1\IWXP\ a bunch of boot-files including ident files\i386 (ident files not necessary in here) EasyBoot\disk1\ident files here to of course Note: it’s okay to use same ident files to different systemfolders.
----------------------------------------------- Example showing WinXP-pro (basically the same procedure to xphome and 2000 as well)
EasyBoot\disk1\ezboot EasyBoot\disk1\win51 (and more ident-files) EasyBoot\disk1\ IWXP \ a bunch of boot-files including win51(and more ident-files) EasyBoot\disk1\ IWXP \system32 EasyBoot\disk1\ IWXP \i386 (ident files not necessary in here) ----------------------------------------------- Step 1. In folder IWXP. change setupsourcepath inside txtsetup.sif to \IWXP\ Note: do not change anything else in txtsetup.sif Â
Step 2. Hexedit setupldr.bin in folder IWXP (use EasyBoot>>Tools>>Replace text>>) from i386 to IWXP Note: use uppercase to IWXP when hexedit.
Step 3. Hexedit “w2ksect.bin” in EasyBoot\disk1\ezboot from I386 to IWXP. Note 1: use uppercase to IWXP when hexedit. Note 2: I suppose you have – or would like to have - a different name on this w2ksect.bin, but you still need to hexedit that file to point to the right “BOOT”-folder (In this example: IWXP).
Attention: don’t forget win51-files according to “prim.ROOT and sec.Root” (take attention to folder structure explained above here). Explanation here: http://forum.ezbsystems.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=1188
As option put winnt.sif (unattended file) in IWXP -folder together with the rest of boot-files – in case you want unattended setup.
In EasyBoot set menu as usual: run w2ksect.bin (or whatever name you have to w2ksect.bin)

OK, I'll try this way using EasyBoot instead of MagicISO. So I tell you tomorrow (propably) if it works. Thanks for help!!! Ardjuna.
