I 'ld like to add that if partition magic 8 makes some errors when applying the changes, it may need to check the disk with the built-in tool or with microsoft's or with avira's .
1. winternals ntfs driver [freeware] = reads (only) ntfs , long file names (LFN) with the "ntfshlp.vxd" , 32kb (compressed by rar) 41kb (uncompressed)
2. winternals ntfs driver [shareware] = reads & writes ntfs, 8.3 names, 1.4mb (compressed) 2,7mb (uncompressed)
3. avira ntfs driver [freeware] = reads & writes ntfs, 8.3 names, 114kb (compressed) 116kb (uncompressed)
4. avira ntfs driver [shareware] = reads & writes ntfs, 8.3 names, 119kb (compressed) 190kb (uncompressed)
5. paragon mount everything [shareware] = reads & writes ntfs & ext2fs, LFN support, 484kb (compressed) 1.2mb (uncompressed)
All mentioned ntfs drivers read/write fat/fat32 but with no LFN ability. They can't co-operate with any 3rd party LFN application (ex. lfndos/doslfn...)
The huge size of some drivers (even compressed) make necessary a ramdrive, in which be uncompressed.
Avira drivers can be downloaded from avira website. Winternal (now microsoft) drivers ara abandonware and can be found in hiren's but it is warez & illegal. Pagagon can be buyed from website but it is in hiren's too. (illegal too)
