Can somebody help? I have 4 versions of Xp on 1 CD, all slipstreamed to Sp2. On the first reboot I am asked to insert Sp2 CD. I believe I have added all the files needed to the image. Get error:SXS.DLL:syntax error in manifest or policy file"E:\xph\I386\asms\10100\MSFT\WINDOWS\GDIPLUS.CA_" on line 0. Error: Installation failed: E\xphm\I386\asms. Error message: Manifest Parse Error: Invalid at the top level of the Document. I'm pretty new at this and am in need of a pointer or two. ![]() Posted by xoben on Dec. 24 2004,20:00

Thanx xoben. I do have that file in the root of disk1\ along with the files from each slipsteamed version.I think I've followed all the steps correctly. There are 2 xp prof versions ( oem and vol ) and 2 xp home versions (oem and vol). Do you think thhis might be the problem? Thanx again. Posted by Incroyable HULK on Dec. 25 2004,11:32
What did you use for the SlipStreaming process? Third Party utilities or Command Line?Is this a typo (xph vs xphm): E:\xph\I386\asms\10100\MSFT\WINDOWS\GDIPLUS.CA_ and E\xphm\I386\asms Also, where is this message showing? During the TextMode setup, At first Reboot (GUI), provide more informations please... Posted by boriscat on Dec. 25 2004,20:38
I unchecked Joliet but it didn't make any difference.I used command line to slipstream sp2. "xphm" is the folder that contains the I386 from xp home. I then used the batch file from ezboot to extract the files from I386. I boot from the cd. Install setup files. Windows reboots and tries to continue installation(gui). Then I get the message"please insert wnixp sp2 disc". Windows is trying to access \I386. I tell it to go to \xphm\I386 and I get above error message. The 4 versions of xp install fine as stanalone versions ( on individual discs ) Posted by Incroyable HULK on Dec. 26 2004,10:12
I had a similar issue and I discovered that I had to change my method to obtain my BOOT folder.Take a look at this method to obtain the proper boot folder: < http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/xpprosp1.htm > FOR EXAMPLE: I did a comparison of my method and the batch file provided with EasyBoot (w2k.bat) on Windows 2000 Pro SP4 (french version). I have theses extra files
I also have 4 empty signature files (with no extension) but I am not sure they are required.
