Forum: EasyBoot Topic: What´s the best way to integrate BartPE? started by: marcelo Posted by marcelo on Jan. 11 2005,17:42
Hi all...I have one trouble when creating multi boot cd. I trying to integrate some boot disks, some aplications like acronis True Image 8, Partition Magic 8, Norton Ghost 8.2, BartPE(PEBuilder). All works fine, but BartPE boot normally, however, some BartPE CD aplications don´t Work(Total Commander 6 and Ad-Aware Pro SE Latest version!). I have integrated BartPE using "run w2ksect.bin" easyboot command and putting I386 Folder and signature winXP files generated by BartPE. I have sure that all plugins and necessary files for total commander and ad-aware are present, but when i boot BartPE that aplications don´t works! i am using BartPE version 3.1.2 and building BartPE with Windows XP Professional SP2 CD. If anyone can help me, i appreciate. Thanks, Regards. Marcelo Posted by Incroyable HULK on Jan. 11 2005,20:41
I can't help you with BartPE but I've seen a lot of recent topic in this forum about it. It seems that the FILE system you are using to build your ISO has a huge impact on the compatibility...

Hi HULK,I will try your suggestion. Thanks, Marcelo. Posted by Tattenbach on Jan. 14 2005,07:14
Marcelo,Youre obviously using EasyBoot to boot BartPE along with other bootable images. Right? And BartPE boots fine. Right? But some applications Inside the BartPE's image) do not work well. Boot the ISO, that BartPe makes, in a virtual machine (or burn a RW-CD) and test total commander and adaware there. Just to be sure there is nothing wrong with the plugins. Hi Tattenbach...Many thanks for your suggestion, i Will try it. Tattenbach where i can download virtual machine? Is it freeware? Regards. Marcelo Posted by Incroyable HULK on Jan. 17 2005,08:18
He is talking about Simulation software like Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 and VMware Workstation 4.5 which will allow you to test your ISO in a Virtual machine before burning the actual CD Posted by Tattenbach on Jan. 17 2005,09:59
Marcelo,You can try free for 45 days Microsoft Virtual PC 2004. < http://www.microsoft.com/downloads > /details.aspx?FamilyId= 4A15008C-3E10-4C54-BCD5-ADC1E780715F&displaylang=en Posted by ScottProdigy on Mar. 22 2005,00:50
The problem is with BartPE... unfortunately, Ad-Aware does not play well with it. There is a work around... paraglider's website has a plugin utilizing a program they call RunScanner... RunScanner will allow you to load an XP profile (such as Administrator) into BartPE's hive so that you can also scan the registry for errors... be careful that you correctly state where your definitions file will be located or it will not load... you may need to manually load it, as well as tell Ad-Aware which drives it needs to scan (if you leave it as default, your PE disc will be scanned and not any hard drives) hope this helps...

I made a bartpe cd wih adaware and wordpad etc and works well when i run it from easyboot menu.there is no need to use runscanner. my advice is to check your plugins because pebuilder it's very tricky when it comes to plugins and especially the order that you put plugins.remember that all that programs from bartpe cd better work in windows so will always be problems.runscanner help you but like i said there will be always problems with pebuilder. if adaware don't work is not easyboot fault, you'd better check pebuilder. if for me works it should works for you.

like i said some programs will not work under bartpe, total commander is one of them.maybe if you search the forrums you can make it work but i assure you don't worth it. try to replace with a better one, maybe speed commander or others.but adaware must work. remember is pebuilder or plugins fault not easyboot |
