HiIn this forum, I read different ways to different image files to boot. I dont really understand the basic, but when I follw the instructions, I could have maked working bootable cd. my question is how do I find this method to this type of image? Is there any perticular ways to find which method is usefull to which image OR trial and error. Please give me some explanations about this thank you Posted by xoben on Mar. 28 2005,20:51
As you cannot decide which method should be used by filename extensions, I am afraid there is no answer to your question. Just some suggestions here: 1) Floppy images, may be in .IMA, .IMG, .BIF, .IMZ, .GZ format EasyBoot can run .IMA, .IMG, .BIF floppy images directly Please refer to < http://forum.ezbsystems.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=217 > for loading compressed images (.IMZ, .GZ) by memdisk. 2) Binary bootable images, may be in .BIF, .BIN format Mostly, you can use 'run xxx.bif' command to load them For isolinux based binary images, including Acronis products, 'bootinfotable;run xxx.bif' should be used 3) Bootable CD images, must be in .ISO format Please refer to < http://forum.ezbsystems.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=316 > for detailed information. but some disks dont have a bootrecord, they needed to be started via a .exe file...do i need to put them just in my bootcd, in the root directory?
