hi,can someone explain to me how to create bootable cd with a for example 5 diferent xp installation on one cd? i already have some of this and they are all bigger then 1Gb. thanks Posted by eureka on Aug. 06 2005,04:01
Hello asxovSize (ISO-file) of XP with sp2 is normally less than 615 Mb! Why not reduce size on i386 folder? Doing this creates space for BartPe on the same CD. Two options to reduce size is: “Gosh's way” < http://gosh.msfnhosting.com > or use nLite < http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/nLite/1087118197/1 > Important! Don’t forget to use “Optimize” in EasyBoot when creating ISO-file! eureka Posted by asxov on Aug. 06 2005,10:50

Hello again asxov! Is it five different Windows-XP systems? I mean different like: XP-Home and/or XP-Pro and/or different languages XP-Pro (or XP-Home?)? Or is it only the same XP-Pro (or XP-Home) and different unattended installs you want to achieve? eureka Posted by asxov on Aug. 06 2005,18:12

Hello asxovWhow! Interesting project you have there! But isn’t it a kind of “Mission Impossible”? Reducing size (without option to upgrade) could perhaps reduce size to about 1,2 Gb. I think you need DVD in this case. Keep up the good work… eureka Posted by asxov on Aug. 07 2005,17:15

Hi asxovIf “Optimize” in EasyBoot is checked, duplicates of files are stopped. This reduces the size of such CD quit a bit. No need to go further in and explain how this is done. It works! Great stuff from you, keep it up… eureka Posted by asxov on Aug. 08 2005,02:53
hi eureka,it's ok when you make bootable cd but how to make cd which contains only data, like for example,ms office all-in-one whit size over 1Gb?made iso in easy boot and than remove boot info? thanks again ! Posted by eureka on Aug. 08 2005,09:29
Hi asxovYes you have right there (about problems optimising/reduce size of ”normal” data). However, EasyBoot is basically a bootmanager (and a excellent one too). Programs like MsWord and further on, have so many different files, that it’s probably not possible to reduce size in any higher grade. eureka |
