Hi,I have a coded HD. With the Coding program (not a commercial one) I got a Rescue disk to decrypt the HD if my windows crashes. (of course that i need to know my password for that) I really don't know how boot record works but I'm pretty sure that the rescue disk some how runs the decrypting program from the HD boot sectors and than redirect me to the command.com from the rescue disk. (the rescue disk is eventually a win98 bootdisk). My problem is that there is not much things that I can do through DOS and I need to use some WinPE tools (like ERD) to really rescue my data if my Windows crashes.. But of course I can't just run ERD because it'll not recognize any windows installation in my HD. Is there a chance that I will run the rescue disk and then use the ezboot.com to get back to the menu and load the ERD afterwards? Thanks for your help Posted by xoben on Sep. 06 2006,23:42
Yes, you can run ezboot.com under DOS 98 environment to get back to the menu of a bootable CD/DVD, and run another item to load ERD.Related topic: < http://forum.ezbsystems.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=1296 > |
