The main reason for this post is to find out what people are using their easyboot disks for, which in turn, may give others an idea on what to put on their disks that they may not have thought of. This thread is not meant to ask for help on how to get the programs to work on your disk.

Personally, I have created 3 different versions of what I call "Ghost Disks" now version 2.4. They are:

Stripped Version (CD)
CD Version
DVD Version

Each Version adding features to the one before it. Below I will describe each version and what the differences are. The reason there are both a CD and DVD version is because not all of our machines hav DVD drives but they all can run CD's.

Stripped Version:
In my stripped version I display a splash screen for 2 seconds and then it autostarts an img file for Symantec Solution Suite 1.1 (basically the standard 2 disk Nic and dhcp autodetection disks for Ghost 8.3). I use this when imaging large labs. I have a spindle with about 15 disks in it so it goes alot faster than using two disks in every machine and faster than having just one CD.

CD Version:
In the CD Version the splash screen and autostart was removed and you are presented with menus, each sub-menu has the ability to go back to the menu before it.. They menus are (dashes indicating sub menus or a function):

--------------------------------
DHCP:
Desktops -- Machine Models - Loads Ghost 8.3
Notebooks -- Machine Models - Loads Ghost 8.3
Profiles -- Machine Models - Loads Ghost 8.3
NIC's -- NIC Selection - Loads Ghost 8.3

Static:
Desktops -- Machine Models -- Location --  IP Selection - Loads Ghost 8.3
Notebooks -- Machine Models -- Location -- IP Selection - Loads Ghost 8.3
Profiles -- Machine Models -- Location --  IP Selection - Loads Ghost 8.3
NIC's -- NIC Selection -- Location --  IP Selection - Loads Ghost 8.3

AutoDetection Boot (the standard 2 disk Nic and dhcp autodetection disks for Ghost 8.3 except mine detects all the drivers Ghost 8.3 came with and more)

Static AutoDetection (the standard 2 disk Nic detection except you choose your IP Address for Ghost 8.3)

Universal Boot (Ghost Solution Suite 1.1, files from pen drive)

Diagnostics -- Described below.

Hard Drive Boot
Reboot
Quit
--------------------------------

I was able to record all the machine models I service and figure out what Nic card they use. So where it says "Machine Models" above your really choosing your NIC type. So you use these menus when the Autodetection and the Universal Boot fail and you don't know what nic is in them.

If you do know the nic type, you can choose it from the "NIC's" menu. Good when Autodetection and the Universal Boot fail and you do know what nic is in them or the machine model is not listed.

In the static menus above, where it says Location, your actually choosing your subnet, the next submenu your choosing your IP address. The static menus are for when DHCP is unavailable.

My Diagnostics menu consists of:

< GWScan 5.11 > (Hard Drive Utility)
NT Password Changer
MemTest
Windows Memory Test
Checkdisk, Fixmbr, Fixboot
Partition Magic 8.0
PCDoctor (Gateway Machines)
< Dell 32 Bit Diagnostics >

DVD Version:

Same as above and ...

Added

Un-attended Install of Windows XP SP2 to Diagnostics

All drivers for every model I service (for windows XP). Most important ones are the NIC drivers in case the other drivers are not the right ones.

I hope this gives you guys some ideas on what you can do with it. I hope to add "PC Linux" in the future for data recovery. It seems to do better than bart pe. I also look forward to seeing what you guys do with your disks, maybe I'll get some ideas from you guys.

hi mmarx82 & mkmt.

if you both have made such a boot cd then i think u must have encountered a problem. "having 2 or more autorun.inf files"

i tried to put both Ultimate Boot Cd and Hirens Boot CD. but both have autorun.inf files. so how do i tackle this problem.

i tell how i make my boot cd's
a)use ultraiso and extract all the ISO files to folder "disk1"
b)again use ultraiso and save bootfile to folder \disk1\easyboot
c) use bootinfotable;run xxxx.bif command to run the file.

please help me.

autorun.inf isn't necessary
