Hi kooler!

Well, there are several methods to make such image of powerquest.
And yes incroyable hulk describes in an excellent way one method.
However, sometimes things still not working as supposed.
Test this way to see if you can make a “work around”.

Create new image with size 2880. Use “EasyBoot>Tools>Create image” to achieve this, and use another working image as “seed image”.

Open this new image with WinImage and insert dos files from a well working floppy – “normal rescue disk” with mouse support - and of course, necessary changes in Autoexec.bat (lines like pqmagic.exe and mouse.com).
Note: It’s not necessary with CD/DVD-support. Create boot disk in WinXP and put in mouse support (mouse.com or whatever you have in your arsenal of dos tools).

Finally insert following files according to partition magic: partinfo.exe, pmhelp.dat, pqmagic.exe, pqmagic.ovl, pqmagic.pqg, pqpb.rtc, ptedit.exe, rescue.txt and finally zABOUT.PQG

That should do it!

Hi kooler!

This is how my Autoexec.bat looks like:

mode con codepage prepare=((850) ega.cpi)
mode con codepage select=850
keyb sv,,keybrd2.sys
mouse
pqmagic.exe

Note: This is Swedish keyboard and codepage (yours probably something different). If you don’t put “codepage” and “keyboard” support in Autoexec.bat, then computer uses default (standard USA keyboard).

I suppose you need/want mouse support? Well, then you need a small mouse program - download from some free dos site and inject it to this pqmagic image.
Attention: of course, name of mouse software must be the same as in command line in Autoexec.bat.

Config.sys looks like this (as you see, not much):

device=display.sys con=(ega,,1)

Note: Swedish support (yours probably different). No need for CD/DVD-support.

thank you eureka for your advices but i solved the problem in another way. i just injected the file that was missing when i make the bootable disks(the pqpb.rtc file). i don't understand while this file was missing on the second disk because the process of creating the disks was fine.i just copy the file missing from the partition magic folder onto second disk.

Maybe you know how to run  acr recoversoft from easyboot menu. it gives a strange error: knoppix> image checksum error, sorry
Any ideas?

Nice that you solved it – that’s good news.

As I mentioned in my count up, there should be 9 files according to pqmagic.

My problem is that I’m not the owner of this “acr recoversoft”– witch highly limits my capability to work with this issue. Sorry can’t help you there.
