Hi,
I have a DVD image created by Nero (.nrg) which is splitted into parts not bigger than 4 GB each (the first one (file.nrg) is 4 GB and the second one (file.nrg.001) is smaller).
Is it possible to convert such a multipart DVD image with UltraIso into another format (eg. into .iso) with keeping the multipart behaviour, thus not creating a single file greater than 4 GB? In short, converting
file.nrg (4 GB) file.nrg.001 (< 4 GB)
into
file.iso (4 GB) file.iso.001 (< 4 GB)
This is important to be readable on FAT partitions.
thanks rob.

Hello rob, it is possible to create a multi-part ISO image (such as file.iso and file.iso.001), but no program can handle it later for burning, emulating, etc. Coverting the partion to NTFS is a better choice.

Hello xoben,
Nero can use a multipart image (.nrg format) for burning, Daemon Tools can use it for mounting, UltraIso can open it, however when trying to change something in it, it seems that UltraIso always wants to convert it to a large single-part image. Could you please explain how to keep the image as multipart with UltraIso?
Using an NTFS instead of FAT partition type is not an option for me because I want to be able to transfer the image to a Mac on an external hard disk. MacOS would not be able to read NTFS.
Thank you!
