I am trying to get Ezboot to load on a new dell system i have. The CD boots up and shows the "Start Booting from Cd..." message. Then just before the main menu opens i see the following flash up for a split second
"Bad Standard Identifier" "Directory Ezboot not found"
The system the loads the main ezboot menu. Unfortunately it doesnt load completely. Only part of my menu structure is there and is completely unresponsive to keyboard. This same cd works correctly on several of my other computers. I am stuck and any help would be greatly appreciated.
system in question... Dell Optiplex 790 Core i5-2400 @ 3.10 Ghz 4 GB Ram Bios ver X13

As this is your first post and you are a new member in this forum, I say welcome

Hmmmm… I cannot to 100% pin-point why you get this problem However, I’m pretty sure it’s related to BIOS in that particular computer. Reason that I believe this is the problem, is that your CD works on any other machine you tested
Problems with “bad BIOS” are not any “hot news” - it’s unfortunately a common issue
Not much to help – but at least some answer…
Sorry for the delay in my response – I’ve been on a short holiday trip – no back in my chair

Balder, thanks for the response and the welcome. hope your vacation was good!
I believe the computer works correctly as it boots up into win7, BartPE and DOS. I do have some himem issues i am working through with my dos boot disk so wondering if same issue with ezboot? Im sure the problem has something to do with BIOS settings and/or chipset but i have no way of stepping through the ezboot startup to see what may be failing. Is there some kind of debug view(or logging) while ezboot is loading so i can see what may be failing?

Sorry – not to my knowledge
However I do think you are on the right track – quote: “Im sure the problem has something to do with BIOS settings and/or chipset”

All i know is that the hardware is working properly for all else. There is some incompatibility between that chipset and ezboot. I have disabled all optional items in bios just to test with same results. I am at a loss which is unfortunate since i like this software but wont be able to use it until this issue is resolved. crossing fingers...

@novimo
This is a wild guess – but well worth to try out
Method 1 (use UltraIso to create ISO: 1. Start UltraIso and “draw and drop” everything from inside of folder disk1 in EasyBoot. 2. Use file “loader.bin” from inside of folder ezboot as boot-file 3. When creating ISO use the same parameters you need (or test with and without checking “Joliet”).
Method 2 (use my script easyboot-grub-iso.script): 1. Use easyboot-grub-iso.script to create your ISO
Note1: you don’t need to think about boot-file as script automatically solve this issue for you Note2: You find my script collection below in every post I write in this forum Read carefully “READ_ME.html” in download
Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions, i will give them a try!
One quick note. when i was just using a dos boot disk i had to add the '\machine:11' switch to the himem call in config.sys in order to get past the A20 handler issue.

I had no luck with method 1. Tried several variations of file system name options with no success. method 2 loaded your menu correctly with the penguin and butterfly but would never load the EZboot menu. The computer would hang on a black screen.

Well unfortunately it looks like you ”looped back” to post nr;2: However, I’m pretty sure it’s related to BIOS in that particular computer
Sorry, it’s seems to be related to BIOS or chipset in that particular computer - or something

I appreciate the help. I am abandoning ezboot for now but plan to check back in future in case a resolution is found.
Thanks again
